Who must register

  • Turnover > ₹40L (goods) or ₹20L (services) in most states.
  • Any inter-state supply, regardless of turnover.
  • E-commerce sellers on Amazon, Flipkart, Meesho, etc.

Documents

  1. PAN of business / proprietor
  2. Aadhaar of authorised signatory
  3. Address proof of principal place of business
  4. Bank statement or cancelled cheque

Common mistakes

  • Mismatched address proof and electricity bill name → expect a clarification.
  • Wrong principal place of business → triggers physical verification.
  • Missing rental agreement + NOC for rented premises.
